In its continued support and belief for the Filipino youth and their potential, the Nacionalista Party, led by Senate President Manny Villar, Party President holds “Sikat ang Pinoy Forum,” a career identification symposium for graduating students at the Trade Hall of Starmall Edsa. The forum aims to provide students a preview of some of the best available career opportunities in various fields today. In attendance were some 1,200 primarily students from different colleges and universities in Metro Manila.
Also highlighted in this event are the innate skills and talents of Filipinos which can propell them to success, as embodied by the distinguished speakers of this forum. From the private sector are brilliant business minds:
Imparting the virtue of Entrepreneurship is Francisco Jay Bernardo III, the award-winning Chairman of the JAD Group of Companies (JADGC), a conglomerate of several strategically aligned outsourcing businesses in manufacturing, logistics, distribution, research and development and human resource and professor at the Graduate School of Business and the Asian Center for Entrepreneurship at AIM and founder of LET’S GO Foundation (Leading Entrepreneurs Towards Seizing Global Opportunities), a non-profit, non-stock organization advocating entrepreneurship to uplift the country. Mr. Bernardo has also been actively in pursuit for institutionalizing entrepreneurship education in the high school level.
Providing information and insights on Business Franchising is Mr. Martin Lorenzo, Chairman and President of Pancake House, Inc., Dencio’s Foods Specialists, Inc., Teriyaki Boy Group, Inc., Marlor Investments Corporation and First Lucky Property Corporation, Vice Chairman, President and CEO of Macondray & Co., Inc. and a product of Wharton Graduate School, University of Pennsylvania.
As a partner, People Support, Inc., one of the leading Business Outsourcing Providers in the call center industry, also presented the many opportunities available in their booming industry to the participants. Speaking in behalf of People Support is Ms. Rozl Ricafrente, VP for Human Resources.
The panel also includes prominent NP member Hon. Gilbert Remulla, a former broadcast journalist and current representative of the 2nd Dist. of Cavite, to share his experience with Media Exposure and Advantage.
Showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Filipino youth were artists from Rizal Technological University. Himig Rizalia serenaded the participants with their rendition of Himig sa Tinubuang Lupa and the Kultura Rizalia Dance Troupe performed a dance entitled Panderetas.
The Nacionalista Party is the oldest an grandest political party in the country, which will be celebrating its centennial in April 2007. The Nacionalistas have been a promionent figure in nation building throughout the century, with its core belief of “Ang Bayan Higit sa Lahat”. The Party has produced great leaders from founding father Manuel L. Quezon to the present Party leader, Senate President Manny Villar. Over the years, the Party has evolved with the changing times, but still remained faithful to its purpose that is to build, with fellow countrymen, a nation that is progressive and independent. With the Sikat ang Pinoy Forum, the Nacionalistas emphasized its belief in the crucial role of the youth in nation building. The Party is pursuing further efforts to support and aid the Filipino youth in order to achieve a better future in their homeland.
